Chugging right along.

I got a total of 4 hours of sleep last night.  After being up from 11pm-3am, I was finally able to doze off, only to be back up at 5am.  Surprisingly I was not super tired today.  I expect to crash and burn in approximately 2 hours.  I drank some Spark around 4 because I was feeling a little drunk with sleepiness.  So for now I am doing fanfreakintastic!  I need to go iron or something!  Winking smile

I loved my breakfast on Monday so much I had it again this morning!  Yum Yum.

Dannon Oikos in Raspberry….freaking dessert in a cup.  1/2 Orowheat Sandwich Thin 1 tbsp. Sunbutter & 1/2 small banana, sprinkle of cinnamon

This morning was “Honoring Moms” at Aidan’s pre-school.  It was so much fun.  They showed off all of their “tricks”  They said the pledge, sang Grand Old Flag, did all of their sign language, said their colors in English and in Spanish, told us who was on all of the U.S currency, counted by 2’s & 10’s, sang a song about that, and then did a little craft.  He is such a special special little boy.  He told me that he loved me so much and that when he was older I could be his wife and he would never leave the house.  I told him he could live with me as long as he liked but that it was against the law for me to be his wife.  For some reason he didn’t quite understand why, but he definitely knows what “against the law” means thanks to his father.  Winking smile  Either way, I knew what he meant.  He meant that he’s basically a Momma’s boy.  And I am ok with that.

When the fun was over I went to the gym and had a so-so workout.  I ended up doing a run/walk on the treadmill for 30 min, my at-home upper body workout (at the gym), 30 push-ups (10 full, 20 knees), followed up by my abs challenge and a stretch out.  Over all it felt pretty good.  It wasn’t as long of a cardio session as I would have liked but I was just feeling super run down.

Salad w/ 1 cup spinach, 1/2 cup cucumbers, 1/2 cup red & green bell peppers, 1 tbsp. light vinaigrette.

Turkey and reduced fat Provolone on an Orowheat Sandwich Thin, pressed in my Panini maker.

Light String Cheese.

A few hours later I had two pieces of cinnamon swirl protein bread w/ 2 tsp Sunbutter and then the same for “dinner”.

I was supposed to go to Kindergarten Round up this afternoon to register Aidan for school early, but his birth certificate hasn’t made it here yet.  I thought we already had one but it wasn’t anywhere I looked, hence the last minute ordering.   Thumbs down

  I am so relieved that today is our “Friday”.  I haven’t really seen my husband since Friday morning (gotta love those 12 hr. shifts) and my children have been completely bi-polar this week.  It has been an emotional & mental roller coaster to the point that I feel like a complete zombie in those areas. This week has been a 26.2 marathon and I am glad I am at the finish line.  My goal for the next few days it to refresh my soul, body and mind so that I am ready to do it all over again come Friday!  I may be absent from the blog for a few days so I can really focus on that.  I think some retail and spa therapy is in order.  I hope my husband doesn’t mind?! Productive insomnia

I learned a long time ago that if I am laying awake in the middle of the night for more than an hour, I might as well get up and get something done.  I never got a chance to sit and post yesterday so I think this is the perfect opportunity.

I had a new breakfast!  It was really good and kept me full for hours and hours.  All the way until almost 1pm!

Two things that I loved about this breakfast.

1. I LOVE the “traditional” version of Greek yogurt.  Traditional as in not fat-free.  It is only 40 more calories and while it does have more fat in it, it’s healthy fat.  I think this is why I stayed full for so long yesterday.  I got a lot of healthy fats in early.  The key lime flavor was divine and the consistency was much thicker and creamier.  It was like dessert.

2. I am in-love with Sunbutter.  In-love as in I spread the measured tablespoon on my bread and then almost always, ok always, get a little extra from the side and lick it right off the knife.  And you better believe I am licking that measuring spoon clean.

I absolutely did not want to go workout yesterday.  I had several things I needed to take care of yesterday morning and lost track of time.  I like to get to the gym by 9:30am but yesterday it was almost 11am before I got there and it just threw me off all together.  I told myself to just do at least 30 min. the elliptical.  The hardest part sometimes is to just get going.  If I can do that much, I start to get a little mojo going and will do a full hour.   Sometimes 45min then some strength training.  That was not the case yesterday.  I could not WAIT to get off that thing.  So 30 min it was.  I also knew if I didn’t start my week off with a workout, it would set a negative tone for the entire week.  So, it wasn’t great, but at least it was something & better than nothing.

I had a few more errands to run, so I got those done after my short workout and then went home for some lunch.  While I was prepping, I had 1/2 cup of Goldfish <—- need to be careful with these, they are a major trigger food for me.  Who can resist those cute little things?

My afternoon was pretty uneventful, I did get to finally get my hair trimmed though.  I was *thisclose*  to getting it cut pretty short, well, short for me.  But I told her how I was feeling and she made it look 100% better without cutting 4 inches off!

Speaking of hair issues.  On Saturday, I did something strange.  I put mayonnaise in my hair as a deep conditioning treatment.  I have always been curious about it.  People swear by it. But I don’t like mayonnaise and never have it on hand so therefore have never tried it.  I had some left over from a broccoli salad I made a while back and just before I was going to throw it out, I had the bright idea to try it out in my hair!

THIS is what I used.  Mayonnaise AND olive oil?  Perfect hair conditioning combo.

The results?  It was awesome. I am not sure if I prefer straight olive oil.  I like the mayo because it was MUCH less messy.  It seemed to make my hands really soft too.  I think I will try it a few more times to see how regular treatments work.  Luke was really freaked out by the fact that I was putting mayo in my hair.  When I showed him how soft and shiny it was after I had washed and blown it out, and that it in fact did not smell like mayonnaise, he was mesmerized.  I can’t even describe the looks he gave me.  I don’t need words from the child, his facial expressions say it all.  Oh darling, you don’t know the half of it.…this is just a sample of the crazy things women do to be beautiful.

Dinner was lackluster.  The past few nights I have been in an in between zone of not hungry but could/should eat something otherwise I will be starving at bedtime.
