I Feel Like a Lady Again

Yesterday afternoon I went for a manicure and pedicure.  It was GLORIOUS.  Normally when I get both, they want to do the manicure while I am getting my pedicure.  I hate that.  Listen, I am here to relax, read my magazine and drink my coffee while I am being pampered and taken care of.  So I asked for them to be done separately.  She looked at me like I was crazy.  No hurry here my friend, and there is no one else in this salon, so you aren’t in a hurry either.

Ahhhh, bliss.  I feel like a lady again!

Yes, I realize I have Flintstone toes….it’s ok, God blessed me in other areas. Winking smile

When I got home from my girl-time I was greeted by this:

This would be the work of my ever nurturing little 5 yr. old.  There are rollie pollies, a beetle, a worm, a caterpillar and of course a butterfly in there.  As well as clumps of dirt and grass.  There are no words.

Workout

I ran on the treadmill for 45 min.  It felt really good again.  I would have done an hour but I wanted to get some strength training in for my arms.

Treadmill work:

0-5         4.3 warm-up

20-25    4.3  walk

25-30    5.6

30-35    5.8

35-40    5.4

40-45   4.3  cool down, slowing every one min.

I worked my arms by doing the shoulder part of my upper body workout, 3 sets of 12 dumbbell curls w/ 10lb weights, 50 bench dips and 10 full push-ups.

Lunch

Tuna Fish Salad on a Thomas Whole Wheat Bagel Thin, a Cara Cara orange (that I had to eat over the sink because it was so juicy!) and almonds.

After my pedicure I went to World Market because they were having a buy one coffee get one free sale.  While I was there I got these.

My oh my, these were delicious.  I am not doing very well on my “sweets detox”.

“They” say that 1 oz. of dark chocolate per day is good for your heart and has antioxidants to help ward off cancer.  So I think I get a pass on these!

Dinner

Salad with two handfuls of mixed greens, blueberries, strawberries, almonds, peanuts, peas, baby carrots and fat-free raspberry vinaigrette.  Leftover tuna fish from lunch on a bagel thin and a Fuji apple.

A few hours after dinner I had some Dannon Greek Yogurt with granola on top.

I am so proud of myself for getting in bed at a decent hour the past few days.  I’ve been asleep by 9 at the latest.  But last night,  I was up every two hours  for various reasons.  Bathroom, a scared kid, stuffy nose, insomnia.  Blerg.  It was super hard to get up this morning, but I am feeling awake now after the magic of coffee!
